Bowel Research UK is funding life-changing research into bowel cancer and other bowel diseases.
Every year, over 42,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with bowel cancer, and one million live with other life-changing inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.
There is hope for a cure for bowel cancer and bowel disease, and it’s called research.
Research leads to more effective treatments, improved surgery outcomes, better care and support, and most importantly, a higher quality of life and better chances of survival.
Bowel Research UK is the only UK charity dedicated to funding research into both bowel cancer and bowel diseases.
Our focus is on early career research – we act as the catalyst that identifies the seeds of future ideas and support them with PhDs and small grants to kickstart early research development. Through our ‘Hard to Fund’ Fund, we’re making an impact in areas of bowel health that have been overlooked or historically underfunded. For every £1 we invest in research, we help secure an additional £3 in funding, ensuring we identify research that truly makes a difference.
